Ferntucky

After the national media reported extensive flooding of Fernley NV, we were so relieved to hear that our loved ones who transplanted themselves there last spring are safe and dry !! Our heart goes out to those families affected by that devastating event , but once again breathe a sigh of relief that we are not making arrangements for helping family. That is now two major flood areas that have come close to loved ones and they have escaped harm.... maybe the luck has changed! :)

Here, the rain continues, with promises of 3 feet of snow in the cascades by tomorrow night. Enough already !! No wonder places we are so familiar with are flooding. A spring thaw with rain are real threats to the city of Portland. Heavy wet snow is what set up the scene for the floods of '96. We live in a "safe zone".... one of the dams on the Columbia would have to break before our home was flooded, and work site high on a hill....but mud slides and trees falling in saturated soil are always a concern.

Here I am the queen of gloom and rain.... not really....
but I need to get out of the house.... I haven't ventured out further than the deck since Saturday morning.... and here it is 48 hour later.
It's RSV season, and I am certain that I have it again..... when I have a work load that involves 8-10 patients in isolation for "viral respiratory diseases"....I am assured to get it. No matter how good I wash my hands, there is always that emergency that takes me in a room unprotected....and with these dripping vent circuits more than ever I hate taking them apart on these kids. But by the time I get there.... too late, the nurses have broken the system and the wet bugs are being aerosolized everywhere.... arghhhhhh....at least it is just a low level snotty head cold in me. The man was sick first.... probably the same thing, but he is always down longer and harder than me. I am off to the gym soon... we'll see if he joins me.

Projects remain stagnant.... gotta get some work done TODAY !!! and a bit of work around the house too...not to mention returning the camera and a few other projects once the retail experience can start today.

Ciao....
