And you all thought Ted and I had a cowboy wedding.... this was the real deal....held deep in a Utah Canyon, along the shores of the White River. As any wedding, it was a special day for the families and especially for the bride and groom. It was sweet.
And I got an education in life like none other. I realize that I was raised a city girl....venturing into the western world as I moved to Arizona, then Oregon...even spending time on a farm in Washington with cows and chickens and 10 ( seemingly large) acres.... but these boys are cowboys.... to call the "rednecks".... well yes that may apply.... but it was like being in another world.
The bride wore a beautiful white beaded gown with a five foot train, she choose a beaded beige chiffon dress for her mother.... so I likewise ( as grandma of the bride) wore a summer dress.... yellow floral....
so when we arrived to find the family of the groom in their finest Tee shirts and jeans.... meaning the tee shirt was washed last week... and the jeans were mostly clean.... we were.... ummm smiling.!
Of course the brother of the groom ( not the best man) had a new Tee shirt on that proudly claimed " I Y Mormon Pu**y"..... even I was ummm.... smiling! That truly was a first for me !!!
But other parts of the wedding were as sweet as you can imagine any wedding would be....
The road trip itself was 'fun' in its own way. Although we only found our way through three states, Oregon, Idaho and Utah, it was the first for both of us... having never been on the road further east than Pendelton. Parts were beautiful, parts were boring as all get out.,... and all of it was filled with laughter....
So we are home from our second adventure of the summer.... and soon off to St Louis....
Ciao
