The garbage from my front lawn is gone. I guess suggesting to the office staff at the company we are using that my front lawn looked similar to the 9th Ward in New Orleans got their attention. No, it was nearly that bad, and with my apologies to those that have had major damage due to hurricanes etc, it was incredibly frustrating to have piles of garbage sacks on my lawn when they did not need to be there. Some times the power of exaggeration works wonders. !!
We are safe from the flooding..... we live high enough on a hill that has no chance of sliding, and not close enough to any hill that might slide into us. Roads are closed in every direction around us. We can safely get out and maneuver anywhere we need to go. Well... everywhere but Seattle, where the "detour" takes you some 450 miles around Mt Rainer, instead of the 180 miles up I-5. We have no reason to go to Seattle.... I feel for those who are not as fortunate.
The rain is due to turn to snow in higher elevations, that actually helps a lot. stops the run off into the swollen rivers. No chance of drought in Western Oregon or Washington this year.
Finally...I am Normal.... My blood work that is. After three years of battling mild to moderate anemia for no know reason... and multiple tests to confirm that. My Hematocrit and Hemoglobin levels are normal. but I have to continue the daily Iron supplements with old lady vitamins. and of course my meds for my headaches.... the anti seizure meds work well.... and the side effect of moderate weight loss is working for me as well..... 10 pounds in 6 weeks.... I told her when I get to 110 # we will talk about what to do about the weight loss..... trust me...that will be a while. the other side effect is the Horrid taste that comes in cans of Pop, and even beer.... so Now I can only drink bottled or tap beer. and I have all but given up my love of Diet Coke.... though I recently discovered that pouring it into a glass help, but does not really return the taste. So the switch to Lipton Diet Green Tea has been made.... and more Water..... I wish I could say more beer, but they really frown on us drinking an ale or two while caring for kids in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
A night off , but with many project to catch up on.... for now.... Ciao
