Under the Knife:...Him not me !!

Well, The man goes under the knife today:

. He had the angiogram last Wednesday. Things went well... they actually had to place 4 stints...one left and three right, with good return of blood flow ....but.... there is one more pretty significant blockage right at the "bend" in the groin. That area cannot be stinted... ( apparently stints like straight unbending places, not joints like hips ....) so today he has the one blockage removed with an endartectomy procedure....they slice open his groin, then locate the artery...cut it lengthwise, scrape it out and patch it.... like they did to his carotid arteries. because its just one, it should be a short surgery...that means 4 hours total in hospital talk.... and three days in patient and up to 6 weeks recovery...so he should be full speed by September when we plan to travel some .... however, we know how these things go. He is taking a bit longer to recover from the angio...he has had some significant swelling and bruising in his nether regions .... and that seems pretty painful..... so we will just take it one day at a time. I'll keep you all posted if anything exciting happens this week, but I plan to have him home by Thursday!!
