The world is divided into many types of people.... and "they" are always trying to find more ways to make us different from one another than in trying to make us more alike.
With the ever increasing fast paced world of communication and add in the total all access way we ( I ) have found to communicate my inner most thoughts there is a distinct divide being created.
Cards... generically greeting cards.... specifically Hallmark cards.
Before going any further I will come totally clean with my addiction to cards and the thoughts and emotions they allow me to display.
But there really are two types of people, and not always divided along the genders. There are card people and there are the others....
I however love cards... I love getting them...from the seasonal Christmas cards... the seemingly mandatory Birthday and "day" cards.... to the just because I saw this and thought of you cards....but more than getting.... I am really passionate about sending the cards. I have already begun my search for the 2009 Christmas card to send. We have done photo cards...Boxed hallmark "Politically correct cards"....even golf cards.... of course there were chili cards,ordered from some Southwest card company..... ...
but what I find fascinating is the joy I get when receiving a simple note from family or friends. This week three cards found their way to our mailbox... with the greening of Portland, we no longer receive bills in the mailbox ( all but one come electronically) ..so mostly the mail finds its way directly into the recycle bin....but this week there were three!!! They all made me smile !!
so for you card people out there .... Send a card to someone you love.... for those of you who do not see the fascination some of us have with card stock and "just the right words"... if you have a card person in your life... send a card to show you care... and yes e-cards count... even the free ones!!
Smile.... it makes people wonder what you are thinking !
