I am honored to be an aunt to Seven amazing young people.... and the niece to one really amazing 93 year old Aunt.....
The trip to Wisconsin was in a word.... WONDERFUL!!!!!
It was everything I had hoped it would be.....relaxing and fun.... and fulfilling....
Seeing My Aunt Mary was the best.... she is still witty and sharp and over all a pretty cool person. She is my mom's older sister and was always an integral part of my growing up.... weirdly...often by being the person I never wanted to be.... she was insane about keeping thing clean and reusing and saving things...even aluminum foil and the plastic on her living room furniture drove me crazy as a child..... but in other ways she ended up being the person I most want to be.... 93 and going strong.... living on her own, fiercely independent and a quick wit to boot, enjoying a glass of wine with an 1100 AM lunch with me and her son, and never without a smile.....
Of course the weekend was also topped by a trip to the Farmers Market with my Niece Nicky, her mom Sue and my Sister in laws mom.... we chatted and walked and laughed and caught up.... dined in Madison and had a really fun day. I got to tour Nicky and JM's humble abode and had hoped to spend more time on Sunday, but alas the duties of adulthood kept Nicky busy with TTD's and unable to waste the day in the luxury that I was enjoying.
I read an entire issue of Oprah from cover to cover...every article.... well OK I skipped one or two.... I wasn't feeling the need to be inspired to work out more, east less or do better at whatever it was they wanted me to better at.... I was ( and am) doing just fine thank you !!!...
Back in Milwaukee and the neighborhood of my youth.... the house I grew up in.... OMG !!! it is now spring green with Kelly green trim and shutters... the white house of my childhood gone in a nasty paint job.... I must say I was stunned !!! I couldn't even take a picture it was so disturbing..... but the neighbors are still there and Shirley and Leo as loving as ever....
Sigh.... it was a great trip..... thank you.... "big smiles"....

I am glad to hear that Aunt Mary is doing well. Sounds like you had a great trip.
I always kenw that there were Leprochauns living in that attack closet. They must have finally got out one night and painted the house.
