A day to smile

Today.... it was a day to smile !!

Why not..... it beats what I feel inside.... a quick chat with many of my favorite people..... and a late evening call from the son in Reno...actually Fern-Tucky. They are good... that is always worth smiling about.... the newest generation healthy and grwoing ... Rowdy L. C. M... Good grief..... as The son sez... that a boy headed for trouble!!! They will be in Reno for Christmas....

Airfares are dropping.... as are temperatures here in PDX...and I have the desire to get out..... hmmmmmmm....... so tempting......

Got the tree this evening.... from the coolest hidden spot in the cascade foot hills.... a tree farm ( I can't do the real woodsy thing any more.... just too old and the perfectionist in me desires a nicely sheared Tannenbaum !! )..... but twenty five minutes after being cut it was in my living room ..... scenting the entire house.....
the good news is the growers here have figured a way to blend the sturdiness of the Nobles.... which makes even the crankiest of North westerners proud to have as their trees, with the fullness of a pine which pleases the Midwestern transplants..... it is truly the prettiest tree we've had.... and at under $30.00 no complaints there either.

Only one tree this year.... a display of joyful penguins fills our front window this year.... after I get the last of the out door lights up in the morning I will post some current photos....

so for tonight..... Smile..... tis the season for peppermint mocha's and cinnamon buns...... and smiles.....
