Ahhhhhh...
The fruit of the vine... I believe I have become addicted. Being an Oregonian, I love many of the local wines. Until I went through "the change"... I could not enjoy most of Oregon's great reds... or maybe in the 28 years I have been here the wines have matured to my sensitive tummy... unlikely.
Although, I have also become a fan of some of Oregon's finer whites. But in Aspen we enjoyed a fine Red from New Zealand. Curiously, I never pay any attention to anything but the name... dangerous I know, as I am learning that vintages and blends seem to make all the difference as well. An example is Greg Normans Shiraz... I adore the vintage that Ted gifted me a case of.... the 2005 Limestone Coast, but recently I had a 2006 that was less than enjoyable. I need to get one of those little books .... and keep track... of course my own 12 bottle wine rack is more than enough for me.... and a few friends... but I seem to keep it well supplied... but the Russian Jack that we enjoyed (three times) in ASPEN) I need to find some locally... as Cheri would note..its an everyday wine.
so its back to my Lachini Pinot Noir... a quiet evening at home after a long day filled with memories and reminders of the first journey to Oregon Aug 18 1981.... who thought I would repeat the drive up I-5 28 years later....new memories.... old memories... it was a long day....
CHEERS!!
